All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese visited NEU for investigation

On the morning of June 6, Liu Zhu, the deputy director of the Friendship and Liaison Department of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and first-level inspector, and his party came to the school for investigation and on-the-spot guidance on the preparatory work for the “Overseas Chinese Connecting Five Continents Overseas Friendship Seminar (22nd Session)”. Jianye An, secretary of the party group and chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Ping Hu, first-level inspector of the Liaoning Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Yuqi Wang, deputy secretary of the school party committee, attended the research activity, and relevant comrades from the Liaoning Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the United Front Work Department of the school party committee, School of Continuing Education, and School of International Education participated in the research.

The research team held an exchange symposium on matters related to the holding of the seminar in Conference Room 308 of Hanqing Hall. Yuqi Wang welcomed the research team to the school to guide the work, and thanked the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Liaoning Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese for their trust and support to the school. Yuqi Wang pointed out that since its establishment a hundred years ago, NEU has accumulated distinctive school-running characteristics in terms of technological innovation, transfer, and deep integration of industry, education and research. The school will seize the opportunity to hold this seminar, based on the disciplinary advantages of NEU, highlight the theme of patriotism and rejuvenation, and help the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese to expand their friendship and exchange activities and enhance their brand influence. Liu Zhu said that the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, as a bridge connecting overseas Chinese and an important organization that gathers the strength of the overseas Chinese community, has continuously innovated its work path in recent years, actively expanded overseas friendship activities, and actively played the role of the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese in promoting Chinese culture and enhancing the influence of Chinese culture. It has extensive influence in the overseas Chinese community. It is expected to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with NEU, make full use of the school’s superior resources, and actively contribute to the dissemination of Chinese culture and the telling of Chinese stories.

At the meeting, the dean of School of Continuing Education reported on the planning and preparation of the seminar. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and consultations on the curriculum design, teaching staff, and conference services of the “Overseas Chinese Connecting Five Continents · Overseas Friendship Seminar (22nd Session)”.

The research team also visited the History Museum of NEU.
